Sophie’s path into conveyancing definitely wasn’t part of the original plan. Leaving school with dreams of becoming an artist and designer, she instead found herself working as an assistant to an employment lawyer. When the firm’s property partner needed support, she stepped in, studying for her ILEX qualification at the same time, and that was more than 20 years ago. She’s been in conveyancing ever since.
Sophie joined DezrezLegal in January and has already been struck by the supportive, friendly atmosphere and the way the firm genuinely puts its people first.
She believes being a natural problem-solver is essential in conveyancing, alongside patience, empathy and the ability to stay calm in the chaos. A pragmatic, level-headed approach makes all the difference when guiding clients through complex and often emotional transactions.
Powered by gallons of tea, Sophie would love to live in a country cottage with a little land for animals; anywhere with a garden and big views.
Based in Northumberland (and likely the most northern member of the DezrezLegal team), Sophie lives with her daughter and their crazy cockerpoo cross, Socks. Outside of work, she’s heavily involved in a local charity that hosts an annual Countryside Show and a Children’s Education Day focused on food, farming and the environment.
